Hojo Jutsu
Hojo jutsu is an ancient martial art for capturing and restraining
prisoners with rope. It is also my latest fascination because to
me it is beautiful, elaborate yet simplistic and has the potential
to be at times incredibly and deliciously sadistic!!
History of the art:
There is a fair bit info available on the web regarding some of
the history & tradition of Hojo Jutsu and rather than merely
compile that information again here, I have decided to merely link
to several of the most interesting sites I have found.

Rules of Hojo Jutsu:

3) Not to allow others to see the tying techniques
4) To make the bondage pleasing to look at
Specific Hojo jutsu terminology:
hayanawa
- "fast rope" a shorter length rope used for the initial
restraint, approximately 2.5 hiros
hiro - unit of traditional measure for length, roughly 1.8 meters
or the length between a man's outstretched arms.
hojo jutsu - the art of using rope to capture, restrain and transport
suspects and criminals in Japan during the Middle Ages & Early
Modern periods.
hon nawa - "main rope" the long rope used for restraining
& transporting a suspect securely. Ranged in length from 5 -
13 hiros.
jakuguchi - a small loop worked into one end of a torinawa
kaginawa - "hooked rope" a rope with a metal hook or
barb fastened to one end used to capture a fleeing suspect
torinawa - any rope used in hojo jutsu
Disclaimer!!
Many of the ties depicted on this page involve ropes around the
front of the throat which would cause pressure on the throat if
the suspect struggled in his bonds resulting in loss of circulation
to the brain, strangulation and possibly even death.
It almost always also utilizes wraps around the upper arm that
were intended to purposely block circulation to the brachial arteries
causing them to go to sleep so that the suspect could not fight.
These techniques are obviously not intended for use by inexperienced
persons or by persons that are prone to circulatory problems, seizures
or other medical conditions.
In other words, PLEASE do not try this stuff at home!
Hojo
Finger Tie
I picked up a book on Hojo jutsu that is written entirely in japanese
that is absolutely fabulous! There was a specific diagram that I
had a lot of trouble figuring out so while at Shibaricon in May
I threw it out to some of the greatest bondage minds in the western
hemisphere to see what they could come up with.
It was amazing and exciting for me to see at least a half dozen
of these talented rope artists all working out this specific finger
tie and at least 2 of them came up with great solutions to it.
I am proud to link to Lynn Grant's rendition below and look forward
to posting a pic of Lochai's solution soon as well! Special thanks
again Lynn! (Ps all adult content restriction rules apply to this
site. If you are unsure what that means click here first:
